Merry Christmas ^^

Why is the room blank, you may ask?
Well, I have a special treat for you all over the next 5 days. Each day, one of you will be added to the room, along with my thoughts and thanks to you, and each day we will watch the room grow brighter and fuller with each person added :)
This was inspired by a tradition my mother's side of the family does every year for Christmas. We get together in a dark room, and from going oldest to youngest, we shared our thoughts and feelings from over the year. We are also all holding candles, which are lit when it's someone's turn to talk, and the room goes from pitch dark to glowing with warmth and light.
We actually just did this last Sunday :) And it is a tradition I'm determined to keep going even when my Grandfather, the one who started the tradition, passes on. (Besides, he says he'll haunt us if we don't XD)

I hope you all will enjoy this and realize how happy I am to have you as friends and how much I care about you all :)

I like that! I'll have to make certain various types of cookies stick with me when I go.

Presents are opened one at a time between the entire family... very slowly. I know other families go crazy with opening everything as fast as possible.

Green, for as young as you are, you posses a wisdom and thought beyond your age. With how easily you forgive, your heart is truly pure and sincere. I have always viewed you as the one who will always be kind and accepting, who always looks at the good instead of the bad with an understanding and grace.
I know that even at times where you feel as though you aren't strong or smart enough or are special, you posses a very powerful inner strength that is fueled with your desire to do good always.
You're the kind, little brother of the group :) And we'll always look after you.
Always trust yourself and lead on with kindness and friendliness, as you do best.

Epic, of silliness XD Not only do you make us laugh, but you also remind us when we're being dumb. We sit and try to find answers to our problems, but you point out the answers as though they were obvious all along.
You have an amazing ability to get along with everyone you meet, and rarely get angry about anything. A very rare and valuable trait :)
Your exuberance is very contagious! XD And it's always a great pleasure and relief to have someone you can joke about anything to.
He who thinks he is wise is silly. He who thinks he is silly is wise.

Bruce, you are definitely one of many talents. Your ability to stay calm in a crisis, to look at both points of view with ease, to make anyone happy, to admit when you're wrong, to take depression or anger seriously and with sympathy, to make people comfortable around you, to be a peacekeeper, to be helpful, to have a strong determination and honesty and kindness and sincerity, and above all, optimism!
You rarely find anyone who possesses half those qualities, but when you do, you couldn't have a better friend.
You've caught those who've fallen, and helped them to be better than they were. You care not of your own benefit, but focus on making others happy.
You're a very great individual, Bruce. I'm glad to have a friend like you :)

Reply Fiora Aroura, December 23rd, 2012, 1:01 am

Prez, I have admired your deep and true loyalty more than anything. You always stick to your friends side, even if they are wrong. You're fun, crack jokes, and are a delight to talk to ^^ You also are very good at easing the tension in a heated situation.
You are definitely one I can count on. Anything someone asks of you, you get it done quickly and fittingly.
Bravery doesn't always mean taming lions or wrestling bears, but it's also standing true to yourself and never wavering in your beliefs and mindset. You're the first one to fight back when something or someone is threatened.
Merry Christmas, little sister :)

Anyways, I regret not being able to see this picture from the limited internet access, so I just want to say Merry Christmas to you guys in case I don't get any good signals until then. :)

Ah Lugbzurg, where do I begin?
Ever since I first met you here on the internet, I have been excited to have you as a friend. I loved talking to you and it was very fun. You became my best and favorite friend, and you are extremely important to me.
Which is why I owe you a huge apology for how terrible I've been treating you lately. I've made many insults at you without thinking of their meaning, and tried to shove you out of my life for little reason. I've treated you like a punching bag from my own problems, and that should NEVER have happened. I should never have done any of that. It really tears my heart to pieces to see you hurt.
What's unbelievable though, is how after all that, you still continued to be my friend. I mean, if any so-called "friend" treated me the way I treated you, I'd probably ditch them. But that just shows how much more light you have than me.
That's what I've admired so much about you. You have been savagely bullied and beaten down by others, but you still remain just as strong and happy and pure as ever. With me, I just sit and stew over what people say for months, but you forget it the next day.
You have a lot of confidence and trust in yourself. I've always wondered why someone as great as you would want to be a part of such a silly and simple comic, with a bunch of nobodies (not meant to be offensive) as this.
But just know that if feels very special to have you here.
You truly represent integrity.

AH! And another brother got me Skylanders, and a Spyro plushie ^_^
(I do believe I'm becoming obsessed with collecting all the toys now 8/ ) But I'll definitely be off soon to go get Cynder.

Last night was so fun ^^ My brother finally got home at like..1:30am or sometime, and we poured out all the candy and goodies and such, but apparently he dropped the gingerbread house so it was broken to a lot of pieces. He asked me if we should try to fix it or just throw it away. I gave an Applejack response ^^ "It'll take a lot of time, but we can make it work." And then I started singing Applejack's song "Raise this Barn" while gluing the parts back together with the frosting paste, and he really seemed to be encouraged by it. And it was a success ^^ We were up till 3:00am fixing it, but it worked out :)
Now I think the rest of the day will be spent snowmobiling ^^ Ah, it's been too long since I been on one. Now if yall scuse me, I got a cousin to race.

Well, I got... let's see... six games. Pac-Man vs., Pac-Man World 2, Frogger Beyond, Viewtiful Joe, Viewtiful Joe 2, and best of all... The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess!

I'm also wearing my new 1960s Batman shirt and was reading from a graphic novel of stories based on Valve franchises that I got today!

Bit stuck in Twilight Princess... No one seems to have an empty bottle for me. That empty bottle is keeping me from meeting Midna!

FINALLY! INTERNET! Phew. I'm sorry I missed Christmas with you guys. :'( But for what it's worth, it was AMAZING for me! I've never eaten so much pork in all my life! o_O

As for my gifts, I got.... The Last Story, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Pokemon White Version 2, the movie Ted, and best of all, the English translation of Hyrule Historia!! Oh, and Lug, if you have trouble with ANY Zelda game, come to me. I am a walking encyclopedia of trivia and knowledge. There is (almost) no dungeon or Empty Bottle I can't find! For starters, if you want an empty bottle in Twilight Princess, you can get two very early on. First, go to Sara's Sundries back in Ordon Village and Sara will give you a milk bottle, which you can keep when you drink it. Second, you should meet a guy named Coro who gave you a lantern to carry. If you have the cash, then he'll offer a bottle of lantern oil. Once you emptied the bottle of oil eventually, you can keep it for yerself! :)
Oh, and if you already have a lantern, go into Link's basement, and you'll find a chest with 50 Rupees sitting all alone collecting dust. You can use that for the second bottle.

Reply Lugbzurg, December 26th, 2012, 4:23 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: >English translation of Hyrule Historia

I... HOW!? From what I read, it's not coming out 'til January 29th!

Oh, and I got those "bottles" (they've always looked like jars to me)right from the start. Made sure to fill them with oil and red potion. Then, I found a red fairy! I'd also made my way through the first dungeon. So much "WOW" after playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask! It was incredible! I love how the minibosses functioned, and how the second one brought the Gale Boomerang to you! The boss had somewhat of a "Metroid Prime" vibe to it, as well.

I never saw anything in Link's basement before... How did I forget about that lantern? I always remembered it when I needed to light torches and burn a skulltula web, but never in dark areas. I'm just weird, I guess.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 26th, 2012, 4:33 pm

@Lugbzurg: I asked my friend who mailed it to me how she got it in English, and she said, "If you ask again, I'll break your thumbs.... Merry Christmas~!" so I think it's best if neither, you or me think of that... .____.;

One last thing, in Twilight Princess, the bosses are insultingly easy. You will never EVER need a potion or a fairy if you're a seasoned Zelda veteran.

@epicness: I also want to say that I've been slowly building my Eevee army this entire time in Black Version 2! All I have left is to obtain Glaceon and Jolteon. Also, Black Tower is the best place to train my partners. I already beat Benga at the top, but it's still excellent for maximising a Pokemon's level. Already my signature Umbreon reached lvl.100, and my Espeon is on it's way there too.

Reply Lugbzurg, December 26th, 2012, 4:40 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Well, ok... But as interesting as the concept of the miniboss in which you obtain the Gale Boomerang was, it wasn't very well programmed.

Often when I was targeting the monkey and trying to untarget, I'd just target one of the "piranha plant" beasts, instead. And there was a point in which three of the things crowded me, one gnawing on me, spitting me out, and the exact moment that happened, the next one would grab me, keeping me stuck in a loop until I died. It would have been a lot better without the things. Even if they were gone, it wouldn't have been too easy. The challenge came from some slightly faulty programing and design choices. However, the whole Forest Temple does look amazing and was fun to play in.

Dunno if I'm "seasoned", but I've cleared both 64 titles (almost done with Master Quest, all dungeons cleared), got through the first dungeon in The Minish Cap with no idea how to get to the next one, did some wandering in Link's Awakening DX, and playing a Skyward Sword demo in which I couldn't get anything done in the dungeon provided (this was before I had even finished the third dungeon in Ocarina of Time, my first Zelda game). Still got through the loftwing bit (twice) and defeated the boss... even though I have no idea how.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 26th, 2012, 5:09 pm

@Lugbzurg: I heard about that. Turns out since the Wii port was rushed out before the actual Gamecube release, some elements were left in. In fact, if you have the Wii port, if you look on the back of the boxart, ou can see a screenshot with a Magic Meter, but there was no magic abilities in the final version, also, there's a way to get green jelly, but since there is no need for it, it does absolutely nothing. Well, it probably refreshes Link a little but no visible perks.

Reply Lugbzurg, December 26th, 2012, 5:35 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: I have the GameCube version. That's what I've heard most people prefer.

No magic meter, huh? I think Ocarina of Time's manual (or a magazine) brought up that Link was supposed to have some kind of ranged "laser blast" attack with the Master Sword. But it's funny you bring up the back of the Wii version's box. As I noticed when I picked one up at the mall a few days ago, well... You know how the Wii version is mirrored from the GameCube version? EVERYTHING. More to the point, in the GameCube version, Midna's left eye is covered by her crown/mask thingy. In the Wii version, her right eye is covered. But on the back of the Wii boxart, her left eye is still covered. They flipped everything around, but forgot about that artwork on the box. Whoops!

I have come to notice some very faint signs of "unfinished" elements. Very, very, VERY few and hardly noticeable. Most people who aren't tech-savy and don't think like a game designer might not even notice. The good tremendously outweighs the bad by several landslides. It's by no means the Zelda equivalent of Sonic '06 (though I am watching Clement's review on that game right now).

I love a lot of the new improvements. I haven't played Wind Waker, so I don't know what that introduced beyond how they changed the "got an item" pose. I really like the new take on the grass you can cut to get items. I like the added polish on picking up objects, how Link might carry them off to the side instead of always above his head, or how he picks up a dog in a regular way. I also really enjoy being able to use my sword while running! Before, Link always stopped dead in his tracks when doing this. Also, I've seen enemies standing there, talking to each other before they notice me. That's some nice attention to detail. Though that coupled with the much more painful screams from when you kill them makes it very clear that this isn't an E-rated Zelda game and makes you more aware of what you're doing. Also, those houses. These actually look like places I wouldn't mind staying in. The areas I've seen have all looked amazing as it is, but these houses look like actual homes, now! When Link dunks a bottle into a pot to scoop up a liquid and pops a cork on it, that looks really cool. Oh, and Link can actually eat and drink things that taste terrible. I find this hilarious.

Also, Midna loves giving me a hard time. (Like when she taught me to use that spin/charge circle attack in wolf form). Going through that Twilight portal a few minutes before reaching the Forest Temple, anyone? You know, how she goes in quietly, and then a GIANT HAND comes out and yanks you in there without mercy! And I'd like to know how she met Zelda. That must've been interesting, considering EVERYTHING!

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 26th, 2012, 5:50 pm

@Lugbzurg: Well, if you liked all of that stuff in Twilight Princess, you might be a teeny bit disapointed in Wind Waker as a lot of those aren't implemented in that title. Of course, in it's defense, it came out a whole 3 years prior to Twilight Princess. However, not only are those used in Skyward Sword, but are built upon even more. Like being able to sit down for a little and recover your life meter. Though that kinda lead to the fact that Link could sit on a toilet seat in his home and that, as you can imagine, spread quickly throughout the internet. XD

Reply Lugbzurg, December 26th, 2012, 6:04 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: There's also a hand in the toilet! Again! Oh, wait... this one happened first... chronologically.

Oh, yeah... There's animals called "Ordons". And the game always refers to them as such... except when you round them up, and it calls them "goats", instead. I think they meant to change that before they got an actual name for these things, so it must've slipped their minds, as it's something so minor.

I kinda wonder about what Link is wearing at the beginning of the game. What... is that? Especially with the "disembodied" green sleeve over his white shirt. Kinda strange...

I've heard some people saying this game tried too hard to be dark, but for the moment, I disagree and think there are some points being missed here. Majora's Mask was dark, but it didn't just leave it at that. It was also deep and emotional. Twilight Princess tries something different. Rather it's got to be the most elegant and elite-looking title in the series I've ever seen. Plus, it's much more mature in a way that works. Little things that enrich the experience, rather than cheap major things thrust in your face, like in Shadow the Hedgehog. Enemy behavior, Zant's takeover, Midna's thrown insults at Link a few times, Link actually has to steal his first sword and shield ("stealing" often happens with objects that just respawn, but these things don't), a transformation that actually scares the people who've known Link for years, unlike the old masks from around a hundred years back, and... there's a... pregnant woman? I dunno, stuff like that's usually left out in child-appropriate stuff for some unknown reason.

I've also noticed that in Link's hometown, when you beat on targets in the simplest of ways in front of children, it will blow their minds. I've heard of "easily amused", but this is a whole new level!

Combat feels awesome, story's kept me going so far, and I've been thoroughly sucked in. I'm just annoyed that other people want to use the TV, 'cause I still wanna play! Plus, I've got five other new games to try! I'd like to get to Viewtiful Joe as soon as possible!

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 26th, 2012, 6:13 pm

@Lugbzurg: The dark aspect of the game comes particularly in the middle of the game before and after you get the Master Sword, and realize just what's REALLY going on. Oh, and some people consider getting the Master Sword in Twilight Princess a spoiler for some reason. :I

For me, though, the thing that kept me going throughout the entire adventure and keep coming for more was the Ending Blow. I freakin' LOVE that move! :D I was drop dead scared of the Skultulla in the game, well, in all the Zelda games because I have terrible arachnophobia, but being able to plow a sword right into their skull was so freaking addicting I enjoyed taking those 8-legged freaks on! Also, Link sheaths his sword with style when you take them out with that move.

Oh, and by now you probably have encountered the Hero's Shade and the Golden Wolf, who teaches you new techniques.... would you believe me if I told you that is Link from Ocarina of Time?

Reply Lugbzurg, December 26th, 2012, 6:21 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: I've seen a spoof of Link getting the Master Sword at that point. Slashing it at blank air for way too long, and then poking the thing that turns him into a wolf again.

So, THAT'S how that stylistic sheath animation was triggered. I got that to happen once, and had no idea how. I've used the (awesome) Ending Blow a few times, but the animation you speak of just happened one time.

"Hero's Shade"... Hmmm... I'm not sure. That golden wolf? Defina- That's the previous Link? SAY WHAT!? Must've been learning some new moves after his own quest(s), considering he never used them in those games. It's like Link's the Avatar or something. Actually, that sounds pretty spot-on right now.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 26th, 2012, 6:27 pm

@Lugbzurg: Yeap. Turns out, he was mournful for not passing along his knowledge, so he is passing them onto his grandson, which, if you haven't figured it out yet, is Twilight Princess Link. He even says that he was once revered as the greates hero in Hylian history, and when he teaches you his final move, he says, and I quote: "Go forth, and do not falter, my child." And if you look closely, the arms he uses look almost identical to the Gilded Sword and Mirror Shield from Majora's Mask.

I mean how cool would that be to just be an average kid at a soldier academy who actually got to work with Chief?

And Skylanders actually DOES feel like a Spyro game. And all the other characters are so interesting and awesome :) I take back every bad thing I said about it, I love it! ^^

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Ok, question time...

Did he marry Princess Ruto or not?

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 27th, 2012, 3:22 pm

@Lugbzurg: I wouldn't say so. if he did, then the Twilight Princess Link would probably have fins growing somewhere on his body. No, I'd say he probably got hitched with Malon. Seeing as TP Link grew up on a farm and is closely tied with Epona, also the descendant of the pony from OOT.

Fun Fact: Epona is actually the name of the Celtic Goddess of horses.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 27th, 2012, 3:24 pm

@Riskfan: If you think the game is difficult, wait untill you reach the Valley of Death. I beat Zelda II only once, and to this day, I'm not very sure how I managed to surpass that area.

Reply Lugbzurg, December 27th, 2012, 3:33 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: In any case, he waited a looooong time. I've known my grandparents for years! Here, Link's grandfather was born over a hundred years before the events of the game! His GRANDFATHER.

Though maybe Ruto might explain the new water-dashing mechanic? Nah.

On another note, I suspected the game would get darker as it went on, but I don't feel like the darkness here was misplaced. I mean... I just got to Death Mountain and the gorons still act pretty much the same. In fact, Ocarina of Time held a darker scenario for them in both childhood and adulthood! First they were going to starve, then they were going to be eaten! In Twilight Princess, they're just keeping some other goron locked up because he got cursed. That's not going too far, to be sure.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 27th, 2012, 4:10 pm

@Lugbzurg: Trust me, it'll get a bit darker when you go on. Most Zelda games start off light hearted.... 'scept for that one time where the very start of the game has Link watch his uncle die right in front of him...

Reply epicness, December 28th, 2012, 4:37 pm

Not really.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 28th, 2012, 4:47 pm

@Lugbzurg: Nope. The Kingdom Hearts series is relatively short for a JRPG. Possibly due to the lack of needing to grind very much, and wasting about 30 seconds of flashy animation instead replacing it with just mashing X and ocasianally different buttons for magic and items. So, it does what a lot of JRPG's should probably do.

And Grudge? It's pretty scary. Still doesn't hold a candle to Clock Tower or Fatal Frame.... I played both of those and didn't dare to sleep for 3 days... Also, I was nervous walking into hardware stores and going down the gardening section alone. o____o

Reply Fiora Aroura, December 30th, 2012, 2:16 pm

A crowbar? -_- A crowbar, that's what you think can beat Chief? Scuze me, I have to go and vomit from seeing too much stupidity.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, December 30th, 2012, 11:23 pm

@Lugbzurg: I really like the Clock Tower series because unlike a lot of horror games, the big baddie of the game isn't sitting in his well garnished penthouse drinking from his juice box, waiting for you to slice through his army. Nope, he, or she is LITERALLY stalking you the entire game. You don't know they're there, but oooh, they are, and they are watching you the. entire. game. They won't hide from you, they'll find you, and when they do, you either run, or have your insides carved into a ham and turkey sub...... Mmm~ ham and turkey sub~!

@Fiora Aroura: Yeah gurl! It takes REAL men to get up-close and personal with their target rather than pick them off from a safe distance with guns. *puffs out chest* Which, incidentally, is why I always choose to play as Brick during an online Borderlands game, just for the satisfaction of punching my enemies into the dirt.

Reply Fiora Aroura, December 31st, 2012, 12:06 am

@Bruce the Hedgehound: That was kinda like how it was with Grudge 8/
btw XD

Ooooooo ya got me thar! Chief neva eva does that!
Srsly? -_-
Not just that even, there are plenty of scenes of him slicing the enemy with knives or snapping their necks in gameplay. Jumping onto a speeding ghost and kicking the covanant off of it XD Love that. One time in reach, the character I was playing as came up behind an Elite, pushed him down and crushed his head with his foot.

Even just before this scene, you see all these covanant slicing up people and blowing up the place. But Chief just comes in and is just like "Nope -_-" *stab*
(That scene, and all thoughts of Grudge is gone ^_^ Did I mention Chief was my hero?)

Reply Lugbzurg, December 31st, 2012, 9:49 am

@Fiora Aroura: Exactly. Have you seen what this guy can do with a crowbar? His swings are a lot faster, too. In fact, he's much faster in general. And he can carry a lot more than two guns! AND he's a scientist! Of course, he doesn't have regenerating shields... he needs glasses... and has a tendency to never speak...

And... for that matter... he doesn't even show up in this trailer...

Reply Fiora Aroura, December 31st, 2012, 11:09 am

Reply Lugbzurg, December 31st, 2012, 2:26 pm

@Fiora Aroura: I dunno... The chief moves really, really slowly. His sword-strikes are no exception. Plus, we certainly can't forget that fun gravity gun!

Sides, a crowbar couldn't even dent his armor. -_- Plasma sword ftw ^^ it's so fun to go up behind someone online with one of those and stab them down their neckjoint. They get almost as ticked as that one kid who kept getting knifed in CoD XD

Reply Lugbzurg, December 31st, 2012, 9:28 pm

Huh... Is it that time, already? The new year's coming up in under a couple hours...

Well, even though Gordon can certainly do anything and everything the Chief can (besides flipping tanks), and then some, I'd say he'd be pretty evenly-matched with the world-famous Doom Marine. But even those two are like mere insects when compared with the incredible might of this dudeguy...
It's not often one gets to see someone take on such gigantic hoardes and just laugh it off!

Of course, different events call for different skills, which may suit out better for Link, Cole McGrath, or (of course) Ratchet!

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 1st, 2013, 1:30 am

@Lugbzurg: Flip tanks? Did you not hear me say a while ago about Chief moving a giant bomb with his bare hands that takes the Covenant zero gravity to move?
You said crowbar dude can use more than 2 guns? Ha, Chief only needs 2 guns XD
Scientist < Cybernetically & biologically enhanced supersoldier.

And I doubt your crowbar dude has ever saved the human race from annihilation, to say the least -_-
You know, Chief doesn't go around picking fights and proving he's the best. He sacrificed his dreams and went through unbelievable feats to protect the human race. Why are you so bitter against something that is good?

Reply greenpowerstar, January 1st, 2013, 3:26 am

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 2nd, 2013, 11:44 am

@comicboy: Actually, Sonic isn't a very good choice for party Brawl deathmatches, due to his over all, weak attacks, and that he has almost no launching moves, and the only one that he has takes a little bit of time to hit, and it's not very strong to begin with.

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 2nd, 2013, 1:43 pm

@comicboy: I went on there as Ike one time and got 8 kills and no deaths XD With, lucky if you get one kill 8/

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 2nd, 2013, 2:05 pm

@comicboy: Well, it's really your style of choice. If you like heavy hits, sacraficing speed, try Ike. If you like a good balance of mobility and power, try Mario. If you like to be a little dodgey and do some frequent hits, try Pit. It depends on the strategy you choose. For me, I switch between Mario, for balance, Marth, for distance and strategy, and Bowser for brutal power.

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 2nd, 2013, 2:52 pm

@Fiora Aroura: That piano scared me as a kid too... No one expected that thing to grow razor sharp teeth and attack...

And how are Disney movies NOT scary back then? Almost every bad guy was a sadist, and one movie even had the Devil himself in it.

And one crowning example is Judge Frollo. He's really a perverted old fart with a God complex and pretty much told Ezmerelda that he wouldn't kill her if she slept with him... then he had this sickening song number that was almost like a demonic summoning. o.e

Reply Lugbzurg, January 12th, 2013, 12:33 am

@greenpowerstar: Ahh, yes. The Piano. (Why have I been gone for so long?) As a matter of fact, I've seen several countdown lists like that, and the infamous piano tends to show up a lot. You should see Snacker the shark from Banjo-Kazooie.

@TeamSonicPrezREBORN: That's what I've been doing with stuff like Superman: The Animated Series and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. (Hold up. When did you get back, too!? Now I know I've been gone a long time!)

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Censorship wasn't as crazy-rampant back then as it is now. Many people in my generation played stuff like Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Mortal Kombat, and Majora's Mask at around the age of five, and they weren't scarred for life. There were plenty of films in the list, but I don't remember them. I just know they were PG-13 and R-rated. You scarcely ever see that today, as so many children are being coddled on such a dangerous level that they go ballistic over the opening cutscene of Epic Mickey, just by seeing him being pulled into a mirror. A MIRROR.

Reply greenpowerstar, January 12th, 2013, 3:57 am

@Fiora Aroura: Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but it scared the crap out of me when I was younger, and ever since it's ALWAYS caught me off guard.

And keep in mind, this is the same kid who can play or watch Amnesia, Slender, etc. without getting scared, and is only slightly creeped out by Majora's Mask and Lavender Town and all those silly things and/or creepypasta. Like, I acknowledge it's creepy, sure, but I still don't freak out.

But that piano- uggggggh.

@Bruce the Hedgehound: The noise scared me before the piano itself.

@Lugbzurg: I'm kind of upset my parents never got me Banjo-Kazooie when I was young. :<

But, yeah, when I saw it in both Jon and PBG's lists, I was really happy that I wasn't the only five-year-old sucker that fell for it.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 12th, 2013, 5:32 am

@Lugbzurg: Aww geez. Not Snacker... that was ojust ONE of the many things that made me not want to play Banjo Kazooie at night... There were subtle things in that game that, today, simply traumatize me... For instance, hearing Gruntilda's little laugh when you first enter her castle, and the absolutely insane cackle she does when you get game over... *shudders*
Then, running into Clanker for the first time in Clanker's Cavern... Back then, I thought he was kinda cute, all floating there, but now when I have nostalgic revisits, I have to back away from the screen and squint my eyes so I can just get passed him...
Then the Game Over cutscenes...!
"Banjo... you sister would like a word with you..... NOW!"

Hi Luxembourg.

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Oh yes, Frollo. Hmm..trying to think back to what I thought of him when I was a kid. Luckily I didn't know what perverted meant.
You know, I really can't remember 8/ I don't think I cared much about anything as a little kid. All those Disney villains, Clayton, Cruella Melificent. No I don't remember ever thinking much about them.
I was actually more into watching the Land Before Time videos. The Sharptooths, now THAT'S what scared me 8( (And I STILL bawl my eyes out at Little Foot's mother's death X( )

Oh yea, and I liked Spyro, that was about it.

@greenpowerstar: Nah, it's okay. Voldemort used to give me nightmares, but now he just makes me laugh. I think they shoulda got a different actor. All those "NYEEEEAAAAAAH" moments -_-

Waaaaaitaminute, play Amnesia without getting scared?

Reply Lugbzurg, January 12th, 2013, 1:53 pm

@Fiora Aroura: Amnesia doesn't look all that scary to me, to be honest. It's the simple "monster under the bed" level of scary that we think of as children taking up several levels. Stuff like darkness and monsters.

The aforementioned piano works on this level because of how it messes with you. For one thing, it's a piano with teeth that tries to kill you. Monsters are easier to wrap your head around that this. And darkness will be scarier if the game doesn't start with out with it. Plus, the way the piano stays stationary until you get near it plays an important factor. It's not just some monster. It pretends to be a musical instrument. Plus, the camera has Mario far away when you enter the room. To get Mario to the point where he's the usual distance from the camera, he has to approach the piano. There are other factors like how the piano jumps out at you a second or two after you think it's supposed to somehow. Like when you're walking up the stairs and you think there's more than one step when there isn't? That instant moment of dread when your foot falls through the air when you think you're supposed to step on the top stair, even though it already passed. Plus, every level in the game but Big Boo's Haunt is colorful with a catchy tune. This level is just black with eerie wind in place of music. And it all boils down to the piano.

I just evaluated a piano with teeth. What am I doing?

Reply greenpowerstar, January 12th, 2013, 9:03 pm

@Fiora Aroura: Oh, please. The scares were way too predictable.

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 13th, 2013, 12:58 am

@greenpowerstar: If you say so.

Sweet Lord in heaven am I tired DX I was up till 1 in the morning playing Skylanders with my brother. I had too much fun kicking his ass with my Cynder against his Chop Chop, which caused me to not realize it was 1:00 until my mom unplugged our Portal of Power. So, now I get no Skylanders until next weekend. ;_;
.... Survival tips anyone? DX I know I could read but all my books have been read at least 10 times and I can't download on my Kindle anymore. And my notebooks are all full DX

@TeamSonicPrezREBORN: Survival tips? Well, try to get a handheld gaming console. My system of choice is the 3DS. You get DS and 3DS software, and a shop to get some games for less than 10 bucks. Or, you can try emulating if you have a personal laptop.

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Ugh, ever since it was released the Dragon Ball fanboys have gone nuts. Honestly, I'm glad I liked them equally so I could just sit and watch.

@Fiora Aroura: Alright, I'm not even close to a big fan of Skylanders, but...

D'aww, those two drawings of Trigger Happy...

@greenpowerstar: I really like Goku, but I'm not even dissapointed that he lost. I rather liked the whole battle. Plus, there were obvious reasons why Goku couldn't have won anyways. But if that's not bad enough, a lot of people have gotten together to make an anti-ScrewAttack FaceBook page all because of that...

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 15th, 2013, 7:57 pm

@Lugbzurg: HAH! Halo. You'd sooner see people admitting the Kardashians are fake celebrities than see me play that franchise... Nothing against the series, but other franchises have done better.

@Fiora Aroura: Yep! The camera in this game is way clunkier than the previous installments though. And... why would Prez be called Obama?

Reply Lugbzurg, January 15th, 2013, 8:28 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Uh, oh. You're walking a fine light, right now. Whatever you do, don't call yourself a fan of Crash Bandicoot. I don't fully understand it either.

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 15th, 2013, 9:26 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Mm, I haven't played Halo 4 yet, but I watched the cutscenes on youtube. Gawl, it was so sad when Cortana died :( And seeing how broken Chief was by it me feel like I could just quit drawing forever.
And the movie at the end, got to see his eyes. Reminded me that Chief wasn't just a super machine, but a human being. Everything about it was so humbling :)
I love Halo.

Reply Lugbzurg, January 15th, 2013, 9:31 pm

@Fiora Aroura: Cortana died!? Why did you unveil that fact!? And why did they change her design!?

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 15th, 2013, 9:37 pm

@Lugbzurg: Cortana should have died a year ago. AI's are only supposed to last 7 years and she lasted 8.

Reply greenpowerstar, January 15th, 2013, 11:08 pm

@Bruce the Hedgehound: *le facepalm*

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 16th, 2013, 12:43 am

@Lugbzurg: I WAS a Crash Bandicoot fan. Was. I quit supporting him after Twinsanity... I couldn't take it anymore... and as for Cortana... this might sound weird, but I didn't feel a thing when she died. Simply because she was an AI. I dunno but when actual people die, it does leave a bit of an impact, but when I see artificial beings die, I feel nothing simply because I don't get the humanity in them. Not even GLaDOSs supposed death brought a tear to my eye even after that rather nice song during the credits.

@Fiora Aroura: Don't let it leave this webpage but I did play Halo... I dunno why I overexaggerated about me playing it but I guess I just try a little to hard to stay out of the mainstream sometimes. Anyways, the game is okay. Again, it's slightly above average in terms of shooting, but not much has changed in mechanics, so it's pretty stale. But the stages are really nice and large, and the multiplayer is really fun too.
But if I had to pick a shooter of the year, my vote would go for Far Cry 3. It's just so great.

Reply Lugbzurg, January 16th, 2013, 10:13 am

@Lugbzurg: Yeah, I saw the first few cutscenes. But the Chief still tried to find a specific person to save her and all. I haven't got an X-Box 360. I wouldn't be going through the story, just yet.

@Bruce the Hedgehound: Ahh, yes. Activision happened after that. I think that may have been the first slower-paced platformer I ever played. Perhaps that's why a lot of people hated it? The earlier titles were much quicker and straightforward.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 16th, 2013, 9:04 pm

@Fiora Aroura: Yes they will, but remember that guys can be genuine too. :)

That's a really good idea. So far we know next to nothing about those two. If you're open to idea, I got one where we get a little bit of back story. Y'know, like before they were sealed away, or maybe even that behind-the-scenes stuff, where we see what they're doing while we're out. In fact, Fiora said that Selena hates dragons right? Why not do a sub-story about that?

Reply Lugbzurg, January 16th, 2013, 9:10 pm

Also, the rest of those other pages should get done, so Fiora's pages can be un-blackened.

Wait, you hate dragons or the character hates dragons?

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 17th, 2013, 4:59 am

Actually, I might have a theory why Fiora dislikes dragons. Maybe it's because they breath fire, and Fiora is pyrophobic because her parents were lost in a fire.

Reply Lugbzurg, January 17th, 2013, 10:40 am

@Bruce the Hedgehound: In any case, it should end up better than Other M Samus and her meet-up with Ridley.

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 17th, 2013, 10:52 am

@Lugbzurg: Most definitely. Seera's way too small to fling Fiora around like a rag doll.

Reply Fiora Aroura, January 17th, 2013, 1:44 pm

@greenpowerstar: Oh nonono, I myself LOVE dragons ^^

@Bruce the Hedgehound: A reasonable reason..but not exactly the main one. She's just never gotten a chance to like them, she fights them a lot, and they're hard to beat 8/

(Kid talking to Dr. Grant:

"I liked the first book you wrote. You liked dinosaurs back then." -Kid

"Well back then they hadn't tried to eat me yet." -Dr. Grant)

Seera could totally fling Samus around >_>

I just got an idea. I wanna do a Fiora vs Zirra picture 8D

Fiora: *See's picture* That creature must be killed before it gets to powerful. *Pulls out sword*

Reply Bruce the Hedgehound, January 17th, 2013, 4:23 pm

@Fiora Aroura: Technically, Seera can't because she's quadropedal, where as Ridley can function on his hind legs. Also, he is extremely large and has opposable thumbs. That's not mentioning his very long fingers.
